O Produtor, tasting note published in August 23rd 2022

Visual
Bright citrus green.

Aromas
Lemony notes (lime, lemon), green apple, excellent intensity and concentration. Nuance of stone fruits - apricot and floral nuance - bergamot; which allows a very good complexity.

On the palate
Linear, vibrant, with great acidity that marks the whole tasting experience. Good balance between medium body and moderate alcohol content. Excellent length on the palate, with a taut, fine finish.

Extra
Suitable for immediate consumption, it will continue to develop in bottle, gaining in complexity and bouquet over 7 to 10 years thanks to its excellent acidity.

Vicious

This Alvarinho Vicious reflects the granite territory of Monção and Melgaço, crystalline, fresh, compact and vibrant. A wine to drink now or keep for a long time.

Origin
Vinho Verde DO, sub-region of Monção and Melgaço;

Soil/location
Valley vineyards, poor granite sand soils.

Production method
Hand-picked in 15 kg crates; on arrival at the winery, the grapes were completely destemmed and pressed directly. The closed press remained in contact with the skins for around 4 hours to ensure a delicate pre-fermentation extraction. We used only the teardrop must, which underwent static decantation for 24 hours. It was fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C. After alcoholic fermentation, it was transferred, cleaned and sulphited to block malolactic bio-conversion. Aged in stainless steel vats on fine lees for 12 months. Bottled in October 2022.
