Vale da Veiga
From Foz Côa to the Douro River stretches the Vale da Veiga, where the landscape is dominated by the geometry of vineyards and patamares on schist slopes. Here, the ingenuity of man joined the hand of God and moulded a rough and dazzling land that is the acknowledged cradle of some of the Douro’s best wines.
Wines with a face, wines with history, wines with passion, conquered from the schist mountains, torn from a harsh climate by generations of men and women who, throughout time, have learnt to extract true nectars from the land. These are the artisans who work from sun to sun, from the vineyard to the glass, creating today the wines of tomorrow.
