O Produtor, tasting note published in August 23rd 2023
On the nose, the intensity of citrus notes stands out, accompanied by a slight hint of salinity. The palate highlights the acidity and typical texture of the bical, providing a long and tense finish.
Produced from bical and cercial grapes from vines planted in sandy and clay-limestone soils, it shows the consistency and characteristic freshness of the best white wines from Bairrada.
The grapes are harvested in the morning, pressed whole-cluster, and vinified separately. The cercial ferments in stainless steel tanks to preserve the liveliness of the aroma, while the bical ferments in used barrels to add complexity and richness to the final blend. Both varieties undergo aging on fine lees for 6 months.

Vadio Bairrada Doc
VADIO is situated in the village of Poutena in the region of BAIRRADA. It is a small and family project founded in 2005 by winemaker Luís Patrão, whose essential element is the recovery of traditional grape varieties and the production of authentic DOC BAIRRADA wines. We have three totally distinct small vineyards and an old warehouse which we have adapted in a very simple way for the production of wine. Our wines present a classic style that intends to respect the authenticity of the region and the character of the grape varieties that give it origin.
