Teixuga

A DOP Dão born from the old vines of Quinta da Teixuga.

Due to the special aging conditions and the unique characteristics of the Encruzado grape, this is a wine with great aging potential.

Winemaking: Made from old-vine grapes, predominantly Encruzado, this wine fermented initially in stainless steel tanks, with temperature control, and finished fermentation in French oak barrels, where it aged. During aging, periodic “bâtonnage” was performed to achieve optimal integration of the wine with the wood.

Aging: 34 months in new and used French oak barrels, with periodic bâtonnage. After bottling, it aged for about 7 months in the bottle.

Food Pairing: Ideal for pairing with roasted kid, baked cod, and soft cheeses.
