With the mission of respecting biodiversity, we are restoring several old vineyards with white grape varieties in the Dão, going beyond the Encruzado variety, predominant in the region. The White Label is the result of a blend of almost forgotten grape varieties such as Borrado das Moscas, Rabo de Ovelha, Cercial, among others. Without any barrel influence, we created a delicate, light, and harmonious wine, reflecting the granite, very typical of this region.
2020 was a year with a harsh, long winter and very high rainfall. An almost non-existent spring and a very mild summer, with a few days of intense heat. These conditions made disease control and grape maturation somewhat challenging. Once the desired maturity was reached, the harvest began on August 25 and ended on September 24. It was a difficult year, but one that produced wines with good acidity and excellent aging potential. The White Label underwent regular fermentation without any wood influence. Malolactic fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks. Aging takes place in cement tanks.
Ideal with delicate fish, salads, all kinds of white meats, and mild-flavored hard cheeses.
