Quinta do Pinto
Grande Escolha is the wine that embodies the excellence of the Quinta do Pinto project. Made from the finest Viognier, Roussanne, and Marsanne grapes of the 2018 harvest, carefully selected, this unique wine boasts an exuberant, rich, and distinctive aroma.
Vinification: Marsanne (25%), Roussanne (30%), and Viognier (45%).
The grapes were hand-harvested exclusively in the morning. Upon arrival at the winery, the finest bunches were selected on a sorting table.
Viognier: Partial destemming, followed by 4 hours of cold maceration and pressing.
Roussanne & Marsanne: Fully destemmed, followed by direct pressing.
After cold settling for 48 hours, fermentation took place at a controlled temperature (16-17ºC) with indigenous yeasts in first and second-use French oak barrels. The wine was aged on fine lees with periodic bâtonnage for 7 months, followed by 24 months in the bottle. Bottling: June 7, 2019
