Quinta do Convento
Since time immemorial, the wines of the Convento have been an integral part of the history of Alenquer. Of a deep ruby, sometimes intense garnet colour, the red wines from Quinta do Convento have a characteristic nose that blends black fruits, especially blackberries, mint notes, dark chocolate and fine spices. In the tasting the wine combines strength to elegance, density and amplitude. With a muscular character, it imposes a serene idea of classicism with a tannic structure that reveals a long and serene aging. Citrine in colour with golden and greenish reflections, the whites of Quinta do Convento are characterised by fresh, tropical aromas, with some complexity where notes of honey, stone fruit and light toast stand out. In the mouth they reveal complexity with balanced acidity and unctuosity that in some cases is dominant, providing a pleasant and persistent aftertaste. The owners of the Quinta have worked for over 3 centuries, bringing the most advanced techniques to each period with an eternal concern to improve quality, respecting the purity of the terroir, in the protected zone of the Montejunto mountain range. Despite the age of the vineyards, the wines obtained, loaded with history and tradition, are proof that only the rigour of the selection and the demand and dedication throughout the process can produce great wines.
