Since 1927, the mission of Bodegas Protos’ founders has been to be faithful to the statement “Being the first,” embodying an attitude of constant improvement with the sole aim of crafting the best wine.
These visionaries understood the importance of listening to the “terroir” and comprehending its needs, envisioning a successful venture that not only has been kept intact but continues to grow, always looking towards the future.
The beginnings are significant because the pillars on which they were built have to lead the way: Quality as the utmost priority and the Brand as a sustainable competitive advantage. Proof of this importance comes from the first vintages (1927 and 1928), which earned Gold Medals at the Universal Exposition of Barcelona in 1929.
Today, Protos is dedicated to maximizing the characteristics of each terroir, respecting its specificities, and utilizing the most natural processes available.
Our rosés and whites originate from different areas and microclimates, where grape selection and variety authenticity guide the expert hands of our viticulturists. Protos reds, crafted by inspired winemakers, embody, on one hand, the purest, freshest character of the famous Tempranillo grape, and, thanks to perfect aging and blending techniques, the highest expression of “Tinto Fino” (Tempranillo) complexity.
