Herdade Pegos Claros
The oldest documentary records of the Herdade de Pegos Claros, also known as Sesmarias de Pegos Claros, date from 1920. For at least a century, the estate has been affirming itself by producing wines with a distinctive profile, leaving a long legacy which, since 2010, has been recovered and, above all, developed to higher levels of quality and excellence.
Located in the municipality of Palmela, part of its boundaries coincide with the separation of the Palmela and Montijo municipalities. It benefits from a Mediterranean climate with a clear Atlantic influence, characteristic of the Setúbal Peninsula, and is essentially made up of sandy soils, in a total area of 535 hectares, occupied by cork oak forests, pine trees, irrigated areas and vineyards.
