O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2021

The aroma is perfumed with elegant floral notes accompanying the fruit, hints of orange and apricot, delicately framed by subtle smoky oak. On the palate, it is creamy and full-bodied, lifted by a lemony acidity that refreshes the long finish.

Mingorra

The white Reserva from Herdade da Mingorra is born from a selection of grapes sourced from three distinct plots: one planted with Viognier in 2008, and two others where Verdelho and Alvarinho varieties were grafted onto an old vineyard from the 1970s.

The grape varieties chosen – among the noblest from Alentejo, Portugal, and the world – are the result of decades of experience and study on how they adapt to the soils and climate of southern Alentejo.

A light skin maceration is followed by co-fermentation of the three varieties in new 700L French oak barrels. Both fermentation and ageing took place in a temperature-controlled cellar to preserve the purity and expression of the fruit.

Mingorra

In the warm lands of Baixo Alentejo, just a few kilometres from the city of Beja, there is one of the oldest wine-growing cultures in the region. These are vineyards with decades of history that Henrique Uva has been preserving and making profitable for years and which he has always wanted to value as an independent producer.
In 2004, the dream came true, with the project being named Henrique Uva / Herdade da Mingorra. The winery is duly framed within the 1,400 ha of a landscape that is even exuberant, such is the diversity of cultures and fauna, with various river basins functioning as authentic oases. The Winery assumes itself as an authentic place of worship. A space where modernity and functionality coexist, indelibly, with the most traditional techniques.
