O Produtor, tasting note published in February 16th 2024

It’s a white wine with structure, yet delicate; with volume, yet elegant; marked by exceptional acidity and a long, persistent finish.

Mestiço

It’s a blend crafted with love by Ljubomir Stanisic + Luis Pedro + Dirk Niepoort.

50% Vinha Velha Pombal | 50% Vinhas da Murça.

A closure that unites two uneven parts, completing each other. A closure that seals itself, open to the world. It shines brilliantly, in the shadow of elegance. A flower that blooms in diversity. The pursuit of eternal youth, with the unique taste of time’s passage. Two sides of the same bottle.

Climate: Mediterranean | Soil: Schist

Vinification: A rainy winter followed by a rather moderate spring allowed the vines to grow well. July was austere, the hottest since 1931, with three heatwaves causing losses in the vineyards. Harvest began in the first weeks of August in the warmest areas and ended in the higher altitudes by late September. The year 2020 is considered excellent for these higher altitude areas. Medium yields in the vineyards produced extremely fine wines with perfect concentration. Aged for 9 months in barrels.

Analytical parameters: pH: 3.41 | Total acidity: 4.60 g/L.

Niepoort Vinhos

The Niepoort family has been creating Port Wines since 1842. The first property in Douro was bought in 1987 and Dirk Niepoort started a new Era in the company with the creation of the first Redoma red in 1991. In the last years Niepoort took on the great challenge of interpreting other soils and climates and acquired two properties in other regions, Dão and Bairrada. Discover the Niepoort Triangle which express the different terroirs: Schist (Douro), Limestone (Bairrada) and Granite (Dão).
