Marquês de Borba
As the name suggests, Vinhas Velhas (Old Vines) is a wine from the oldest vines of the group, planted at an altitude of 300 meters on clay-limestone, schistous soils.
One of João Portugal Ramos’s most emblematic brands, Marquês de Borba combines the tradition of Alentejo with enormous quality, present since the brand’s first harvest in 1997. The name arises from the fortunate coincidence of João Portugal Ramos’s vineyards and winery being located in the Borba sub-region, and from an uncle holding the noble title of Marquess of Borba, a title created in 1811.
