O Produtor, tasting note published in May 10th 2023

Nose with fresh citrus aromas and sweet floral notes. Excellent projection and aromatic persistence where a striking minerality stands out. Its color is that of a bright citrus. On the palate, it starts out fresh and enveloping, evolving into a textured wine, with excellent volume, marked by well-integrated mineral notes in a vibrant acidity. The finish is fresh, balanced and of excellent persistence.

The grapes from previously selected plots, transported in 22 kg crates, have undergone rigorous sorting at the entrance to the cellar. After destemming and pressing, the must was transferred to a stainless steel tank where it was kept at a temperature of 8ºC for 48 hours until settling. After the start of the alcoholic fermentation in tank, the wine was transferred to French oak barrels, where the alcoholic fermentation took place, with controlled temperatures of 15º C for a period of 30 days.

LVW - Lobo Vasconcellos Wines

LVW – Lobo Vasconcellos Wines is a company created by Manuel Lobo and Francisco Bessa, whose goal is to produce wines that reflect the authenticity of their terroirs.

We currently operate vineyards in the Alentejo, at Herdade da Perescuma (in Vendinha, Évora), as well as at Herdade do Zambujal do Conde in Évora. Each of the vineyards has its own characteristics, which derive from the adaphic-climatic conditions, some of them unique in the region, and the unique way in which the grape varieties we produce adapt to these conditions.

Since 1817
The Lobo de Vasconcelos family’s contact with the world of vines and wine dates back more than 200 years. The first winery built dates back to 1817, at Quinta do Casal Branco, in Almeirim, in the Ribatejo region. In 1969, the Lobo de Vasconcellos family acquired Herdade da Perescuma, in the Alentejo. A strong family tradition of entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector, with wine, livestock, olive growing and forestry as its main activities.

Our team
The goal of Lobo de Vasconcellos Wines Lda is: “To promote the authenticity of our “terroirs” to wine lovers by creating unique and authentic wines”. Its strategy and organisation are designed to pursue this mission.
