O Produtor, tasting note published in June 12th 2022

Citrine colour, aroma with floral notes and tropical fruits. In the mouth it has good harmony, well integrated acidity and a balanced finish.

Lupucinus

The grapes that gave origin to this wine, come from this Quinta, which has different exposures, south, east and west. The grapes are harvested by hand, into boxes of 25 kilos at their ideal point of ripeness, intending to present a balanced acidity that guarantees the desired freshness. After gentle crushing and total destemming and careful pressing of the grapes at low pressure, the alcoholic fermentation of the clarified must takes place in stainless steel vats with temperature control.

Quinta de Lubazim

The Quinta produces the DOC Douro wines “Quinta de Lubazim” and “Lupucinus” and grapes for Port wine production. The vineyards of Quinta de Lubazim are located in Douro Superior, on the right bank of the Douro River, in the depression between the Serra da Lousa and the Bulfata ridge, at an altitude of about 100 meters. It is an area from which some of the best Portuguese wines are produced.

The property covers 90 hectares, with 20 hectares of new vines (between 5 and 15 years old) and some 40 hectares of old vines.

The grape varieties grown include Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Alicante Bouchet, Syrah, Tinta Roriz and 42 other varieties registered with the IVDP.

The vineyards have ample sun exposure, are south-facing and planted on schistous soils.
