James Suckling, tasting note published in August 7th 2020
A full, very dense white that is well structured and layered. Plenty of baked apples, lemons and white pineapple with stone and mineral undertones. Compact and tight. Solid and powerful. Give it three to four years to open, but already fantastic.
This Grand Cru Louis Jadot Corton-Charlemagne is shared by the two villages of Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses, in the north of the Côte de Beaune.
The Jadot vineyard area has been in the family since the 19th century and faces south.
This Chardonnay wine is fermented and matured in oak barrels for a total of 18 months. This powerful and mineral wine has intense aromas and flavours of fruit, flower, pepper and cinnamon.
It is essential to age this wine in bottle: 10 to 20 years will bring out the best in its development.
