Herdade Papa Leite

Born in clay and schist-limestone soils, the grapes were hand-harvested on August 28 and transported in 10 kg boxes to avoid crushing.
Winemaking: Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tank for 3 weeks with controlled fermentation temperature at 14ºC.
Aging: After alcoholic fermentation, the wine remained in contact with the fine lees for 3 months, then aged for 13 months in barrels specially produced for this wine, followed by bottle aging.

Physico-chemical parameters:
Reducing sugars 1.8 g/l
pH 3.43
Total acidity 5.8 g/l

Winemaker: António Madalena.

To fully enjoy the aging in barrel and bottle, we recommend decanting the wine. The Stories white pairs well with light dishes such as steamed sole, grilled or boiled seafood, scampi, beef tartare, salt-roasted chicken, or a succulent chateaubriand.

Filipe Barreiros Cardoso

Filipe Barreiros Cardoso dedicated a large part of his life to banking in Lisbon. However, a few years ago, he moved to the Alentejo to pursue his dream of raising high-quality livestock and producing innovative wines and olive oils. As great projects often arise from great dreams, Filipe managed to revitalize Herdade Papa Leite, in Alter do Chão, a property that had been in his family for generations. Passionate about the land and the region, he transformed the 320 hectares into a benchmark of excellence.
