Herdade do Rocim
With two thousand years of tradition in Alentejo, talha wine continues to be produced according to the winemaking processes of the Roman villae. With this wine, Herdade do Rocim pays homage to the ancestral tradition of vine and wine culture.
Climate: Typically Mediterranean, presented in the Vidigueira sub-region where the climatic conditions are the most temperate in Alentejo, providing an optimal microclimate for the production of high-quality wines. Soils: Low productivity, of granitic and schist origin. Great pedological potential for vine cultivation and obtaining excellent wines.
Winemaking: Winemaking was carried out by the traditional process, in clay talhas and without skin contact. The ancestral method of making talha wine was fully respected. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts from the region and without any addition or correction of the must.
Aging: The wine aged for three months in the bottle. This wine was not stabilized before bottling, so as not to affect its potential for evolution, and may create a slight natural deposit during its time in the bottle.
Viticulture: Catarina Vieira and Amândio Cruz. Enology: Catarina Vieira and Pedro Ribeiro.
