Maçanita
The Fitapreta Branco is a wine of origin, an effort to revive the old formula of Alentejo whites using typical grape varieties of the region. Some varieties such as Tamarez (syn. Trincadeira das Pratas) and Alicante Branco (syn. Boal de Alicante) are limited to a few hectares. Produced with minimal intervention, it expresses the pure aromas and flavors of the Alentejo.
The grapes come from two vineyards: the Vinha da Nora (40%), with 38 years, in organic production since 2015, a field blend of Roupeiro, Rabo de Ovelha, Arinto, Tamarez, Alicante Branco, and Antão Vaz; and the Vinha de Vale do Cepo (60%), 51 years old and certified as integrated production, with the varieties Roupeiro (syn. Síria), Alicante Branco (syn. Boal de Alicante), and Tamarez (syn. Trincadeira das Pratas).
Vinification: The grapes are harvested between 3 and 4 in the morning, whole-cluster pressing. Suspended solids settle naturally (6-12 hours). Fermentation 85% in vertical tanks, 5% in small horizontal tanks, and 10% in neutral barrels. Spontaneous fermentation. After fermentation, it remained on lees until the end of February when it was bottled.
Fresh, with good acidity and some unctuousness, it pairs well with grilled fish, salads, and fresh seafood.
