O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2023

Brilliant golden-yellow color. The aroma contrasts with the apparent aromatic evolution suggested by the color, featuring mineral, floral, slightly chemical notes, fruit with not overly ripe flesh, and a vegetal hint arising from the maceration process, alongside light oxidative notes. On the palate, it has structure, is almost “tannic,” very dry yet very fresh, with an atypical acidity for the Alentejo region, finishing long and persistent, making it very versatile at the table.

Erro B

The Erros da Quinta do Mouro are an out-of-the-box collection, a result of rejecting absolute truths in the cellar, or a set of provocations from producer and winemaker Miguel Louro based on wines that, for various reasons, ended up being the result of chance, improvisation, or clever twists after incidents along the way.

Erro B is a bold white, made with complete maceration, boasting unparalleled structure and freshness. It is already in its fifth edition… Exceptionally, a repeatable Erro!

Quinta do Mouro

Quinta do Mouro is located at the gates of the city of Estremoz, and belonged for centuries to the Zagalos family, one of the most wealthy in the city. This original “farmhouse” in Alentejo, where the vast lands dominate, has a palatial house from the 16th century. In 1979, when he was only 26 years old, fortune dictated the fate of Miguel Louro at a poker table, among friends, when he had the dilemma of buying a Porsche or Quinta do Mouro. The first acres of vineyards would be planted in 1989, following a failed incursion into cattle ranching, being today one of the region’s most iconic wine producers.
