O Produtor, tasting note published in July 27th 2023

Elegant and complex nose with granite mineral dominance. Notes of apple, citrus fruit, thyme, gunpowder and spices. A mouthful of freshness and elegance with volume, structure and a long finish.

Druida

Druida is a white wine made almost entirely by hand, with a special selection of grapes from old vines of the Encruzado variety. These vineyards, located at an altitude of 500 meters, with a privileged view of the Serra da Estrela, are true sources of freshness and longevity.

Fermented using only natural yeasts in oak barrels (the sacred tree of the druids), it is a unique wine for its complexity and personality.

The climatic year is characterized as dry and hot overall. The high thermal amplitudes of the region and the clayey soils have allowed to preserve a lot of freshness and acidity in these grapes, which were harvested and manually selected in early September.

Climate: Cold, windy, and humid autumns and winters. Mild springs and hot, dry summers.

Soils: Granitic, with clay.

Vinification: Fermentation in barrels (228l and 400 l) and vats (2000 l and 700 l), without the addition of yeasts.

Aging: 10 months on total lees in the containers where it fermented. Bottled in July 2023 and aged in bottles since then.

Mira do Ó

Old vines, century-old vines, hillside vines, lowland vines, clay or stony vines, all produce different wines.
It has been our mission to interpret all the differences that exist in the vines and transpose them into the different wines. Our major focus is on old vines of Baga, in the case of the reds, and Bical in the case of the whites, although in some vineyards there are blends with other local grape varieties.
The oenology is minimalist in terms of intervention but quite differentiated and adapted to each of the different vineyards, i.e., the different plots also have a different approach in the winery in order to better reveal what we believe to be their purest expression.
We want wines that are tense, fresh and complex, with a great connection to the terroir and a unique personality and that, fundamentally, will give us pleasure for many years.
