O Produtor, tasting note published in June 8th 2018
The colour is an intense dark red.
Charming, the nose seduces with its great freshness.
A silky, glutinous attack precedes a broad, fruity and enveloping mouth. Throughout the tasting, a dense structure is harmoniously combined with a beautiful freshness, giving this wine elegance and finesse. This great red wine from Pessac-Léognan is in line with two other emblematic vintages: 2009 for its generosity and silky touch, but also for the exceptional structure of 2005.
Gravity vats without pumping over, alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel and temperature controlled vats in coated steel. Maceration during 2 to 3 weeks at 30° – 32°.

Ageing : 18 months in barrels (four months on lees)

Domaine du Chevalier
Domaine de Chevalier is situated in a clearing in the middle of a forest which protects the vines from extreme temperatures. In fact, Chevalier is a kind of secret garden, far from the limelight. This is something of a paradox for such an excellent wine, among the greatest in Bordeaux. “Only a great terroir can produce a great wine…. I often start with these words when talking about Domaine de Chevalier. They convey our fundamental philosophy, not only in relation to viticulture, but also the spirit that pervades the estate, and the men and women who work here. They improve their already considerable skills year after year in the name of what, in my opinion, is most essential to good wine – balance.
