In the life of any winemaker, there are wines and moments that mark our lives, that deserve to be on our CV. This wine is one of them. We call it CV - Curriculum Vitae. Created by nature, this wine comes from a single vineyard and shows its elegant and persistent profile every year. The CV - Curriculum Vitae Douro White 2019 has a buttery nose, with notes of grapefruit, lemon peel and flowers.

CV Curriculum Vitae

The 2018/2019 wine year was characterised by significant fluctuations in temperature and below-normal annual rainfall values, making 2019 a dry year. The weather conditions led to a slight advance in the vegetative cycle compared to the average of the last five years. This advance slowed down during the cycle. Despite the occurrence of heavy rainfall in April, the subsequent weather conditions contributed to the excellent phytosanitary quality of the grapes at harvest. Harvesting generally started at the end of September and continued slightly later than last year due to good weather conditions in September and October. The occasional rainfall during the harvest had a positive impact on ripening, as the good phytosanitary quality of the bunches made it possible to wait for the grapes to ripen. The harvest resulted in high quality musts, generally with higher acidity, lower alcohol content and good phenolic content. The white grapes were harvested between 6am and 16 September 2019. The vineyard that gives rise to the CV – Curriculum Vitae Douro Branco is over 80 years old and is located in the north-eastern region of the Douro, at an average altitude of 480 metres, which allows for the production of cooler wines. cooler. A unique vineyard, with a blend of different grape varieties such as Rabigato, Samarrinho, Donzelinho white, Viosinho and Códega. All grapes are selected before being destemmed and lightly crushed by a pneumatic press. The first must is decanted for 24 hours at 10°C into 2500 litre stainless steel tanks. The must is then transferred to carefully selected French oak barrels (225 and 500 litres) to ferment for over 25 days at controlled temperatures between 10°C and 14°C. The wine is aged in the same barrels for over 8 months with batonnage. Bottling date: July 2020 (1,688 x 750ml + 100 x Magnums) Great bottle ageing capacity, and mysterious over the years.
