O Produtor, tasting note published in October 12th 2018
This wine is full of character and stateliness - a green wine with plenty of minerality and freshness, combined with the wine's acidity and more vegetal profile. Complex and intriguing, this wine is full-bodied, and has a more austere finish, precise and direct, but clean and refreshing.
Made up of soils of granite origin, the Marco de Canaveses region has a favourable climate for the production of great vinho verde. Located in the interior of the Region, the region is protected from the influence of the Atlantic and at a high average altitude, so the temperature ranges are higher than the average for the Region and the summer is hotter. Made from an old vineyard, around 25 years old, where the grape varieties Azal, Avesso, Arinto and Alvarinho predominate. After a light pressing of the grapes, only the teardrop must was selected, which was then cooled and decanted at low temperatures. Fermentation took place in 500L French oak barrels, followed by 6 months in the bottle.
