O Produtor, tasting note published in June 28th 2020

This Loureiro, after fermentation, was left for a few months in a fine yeast slurry to increase its structure and give it more balance and equilibrium. On the nose, it shows the typical note of bay flower, with a citrus component and some more tropical notes. In the mouth, it shows an enormous freshness, which is not aggressive, as it is integrated in an elegant structure, very cold, irreverent, showing how we are in front of a grape variety that deserves a lot of attention.

Casa das Infantas Loureiro

In the cradle of Portugal flourishes this vineyard named Casa das Infantas, a name born from the Love I have for my three Infantas, my wife Dália and daughters Margarida and Luísa. That same love, dedicated to these vineyards. The vineyards are caressed by the heat of the east winds, contrasting with the minerality and freshness of the water mines of Serra da Penha. To such an array of virtues, we added the mastery of our friend Paulo Laureano, who “educated” the wine since its genesis, creating a force of nature; exuberant to the smell, jagged body and fresh finish.

Paulo Laureano

Paulo Laureano is one of Portugal’s most renowned winemakers and a reference in the Alentejo. An agronomist, oenologist trained between Portugal, Australia and Spain, after teaching at the University of Évora for 10 years, he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to what has moved him since 1993: designing wines. Especially in the company he set up with his family in 1999, which has become increasingly important in his life.
Paulo Laureano defines himself as a minimalist winemaker, for whom designing wines is a passion, unveiling his aromas and flavours, evaluating and optimising the reasons for his identity and personality, promoting them as true sources of pleasure.
His exclusive focus on Portuguese grape varieties reflects his way of life, viewing wine as a factor of culture and civilisation.
