O Produtor, tasting note published in September 14th 2021

This wine has a yellow-gold color, an indicator of its age and maturation in wood, with aromas of vanilla and dried fruits. On the palate, it is floral, with well-integrated wood and good acidity. It is a soft, enveloping wine with a persistent finish.

Bulas Family

The right bank of the Douro River, in the region of Cima Corgo, has always given rise to wines of excellence. Historical records dating back to 1256 refer to the production of wines at the confluence of the river Ceira with the river Douro in the region of Gouvinhas, Sabrosa. It is in this environment of great natural beauty, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO, that the farms of FozCeira and Costa de Baixo produce wines, combining quality with heritage, which includes pombaline landmarks of the oldest demarcated region in the world (1756 – Douro Demarcated Region).
The edafoclimatic conditions of the place guarantee the highest potential quality classification of the region (letter A). In fact, year after year, the old vines, composed of a huge variety of native varieties of the region, as well as the more recently planted Touriga Nacionaland Touriga Franca varieties, produce grapes of excellence allowing the production of concentrated, complex, high quality wines. The vines are treated, trying to keep the balance and resilience of the plants in harmony with the surrounding environment, ensuring compliance with all environmental rules.
The production of the wines is done in small lots, which try to capture the specificities of the various vineyards and varieties. Combining traditional techniques with the latest knowledge and innovations, the aim is to ensure a continuous increase in quality and future sustainability. The Bulas family wants, maintaining tradition and safeguarding the region’s culture and heritage, to produce, in a sustainable way, wines of extreme quality capturing the essence of the Douro.
