O Produtor, tasting note published in April 27th 2023

Citrus fruit and minerality, grapefruit, nettle notes and white flowers, very fresh and light in the mouth, revealing the altitude of the vines. The soul of this wine lies in the unique combination of Syrian and Fonte Cal grape varieties from old vines planted on granite and schist soils with quartz lumps in the Douro River basin at an average altitude of 700 metres.

Beyra

The soul of this wine lies in the unique combination of grapes from the Síria and Fonte Cal grape varieties, from old vines planted in granitic and schistous soils with quartz veins, in the Douro River basin at an average altitude of 700 meters.

The organic white wine Beyra is produced using organic farming methods in vineyards planted exclusively with indigenous grape varieties perfectly adapted to the rustic climate caused by the altitude.

The grapes are hand-harvested, received with total destemming and immediate crushing. Fermentation takes place between 16º and 17ºC for a period of about 20 days with indigenous yeasts.

Aging on fine lees in barrels and tanks until bottling.

To be enjoyed as an aperitif or to accompany grilled fish and salads with fresh cheese.

Rui Roboredo Madeira Vinhos

In one of the most remote areas of the Iberian Peninsula, on the border between the Douro Superior and Beira Alta regions, it was among family that its passion grew for the aromas and smells of this land that shapes our character.
After coming into contact with many cultures of living and making wine, in various parts of the globe, Rui Madeira returned to the great Douro valley convinced that they have the potential to make the best wines in the world.
Out of respect for nature, due to the way we cultivate their vineyards and wines reflect his experiences, which smell and taste of land, of schist, damp granite, rock rose, wild flowers and fruit.
It is in the winery that he makes wines with the character of our ‘terroir’, expressed through native grape varieties, which instil with a style of their own and an international profile.
