Melissae is the name of the honey nymphs, another substance associated with the divine world and closely linked to the origins of wine. The choice of this name is a tribute to the bees, for a wine with intense floral aromas that remind us of the nectar they collect. Melissae's grapes come from our highest plot, which is also the residence of our bees.

Casal do Paço, in Vasco Croft’s family since the 17th century, has the soul of an old Quinta and was the starting point for the Aphros project. The farm spreads over almost 20 hectares of land and woodland, six of which are vineyards and four chestnut orchards. In the centre is a 16th-century granite house with two floors and its chapel. The winery, on the first floor, dates back to the house’s origins.
In October 2006, the first biodynamic process was implemented, marking the beginning of something that would transform the estate and its wines.
Now, Casal do Paço is recognised as an ecological winemaking model committed to the preservation of its ecosystems, which includes not only the vineyards, but also entire forests of acacias, oaks, eucalyptus and century-old trees, and is home to wild boar, foxes and eagles.
