O Produtor, tasting note published in September 18th 2023

Very mineral nose, notes of gunpowder and earth, clay. Fine floral notes, white flowers and citrus. Some notes of honey and beeswax. In the mouth it is fresh, tense and long, with the ability to accompany grilled fish, seafood and some fatty meats. Great body and depth.

Aliás

The Aliás Branco de Outrora wine was born from the century-old vines of the Bical grape, found in the old vineyards of Bairrada. It is a very limited production, which is somewhat surprising for its lightness, combined with great depth and complexity. It is not a modern white wine, but a white wine from the past.

The manual harvest and meticulous grape selection make this wine almost a rare piece of watchmaking. The best grapes are selected from among the century-old vines of this variety, scattered throughout the vineyard.

The winemaking process is quite artisanal: the grapes are carefully pressed in a small, old press, and the must is immediately transferred to used French oak barrels, without the addition of yeasts, where it ferments and ages for 12 months.

This wine has great potential for bottle aging.

Mira do Ó

Old vines, century-old vines, hillside vines, lowland vines, clay or stony vines, all produce different wines.
It has been our mission to interpret all the differences that exist in the vines and transpose them into the different wines. Our major focus is on old vines of Baga, in the case of the reds, and Bical in the case of the whites, although in some vineyards there are blends with other local grape varieties.
The oenology is minimalist in terms of intervention but quite differentiated and adapted to each of the different vineyards, i.e., the different plots also have a different approach in the winery in order to better reveal what we believe to be their purest expression.
We want wines that are tense, fresh and complex, with a great connection to the terroir and a unique personality and that, fundamentally, will give us pleasure for many years.
