Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange, tasting note published in May 2nd 2020
NOSE
A proper Scottish porridge - a pinch of salt and rich oats - stirred with a spoonful of decadently sweet strawberry jam and sprinkled with sultanas.
PALATE
Creamy and chocolatey, with the nose mush dusted with cocoa. Mild spices - cardamom and cinnamon - with rich hot chocolate and crushed sultanas to follow.
END OF MOUTH
The dark chocolate fruitiness fades to reveal apple and a touch of liquorice.
A well-balanced entry in Jura’s range, comprising smoked and unsmoked whisky matured in bourbon casks and finished in sherry, adding darker notes to the smooth smoke and fresh fruit of the distillery whisky.
Allergens information

Jura Whisky Distellery
Jura is where you’ll find our community of 212 people along with ancient landscapes of wild mountains, next to peaceful lochs surrounded by stormy seas. And with just one road, one pub, one whisky distillery and a very distinctive micro-climate, it’s not the easiest place to make the UK’s number one single malt Scotch whisky, but it’s definitely one of the best. A great collection of unique whiskies that are smooth, bright and lively, just like the tiny island community that makes them.
Each single malt in the Signature series is matured in American ex-bourbon white oak barrels and enhanced by a variety of specially selected casks from across Europe.
