O Produtor, tasting note published in May 25th 2020

Intense orange nucleus that fades into a reddish rim. On the nose it is mature and complex, loaded with subtle nuances. Aromas of plum, fig and sultanas combine with sweet notes of marzipan and biscuit. Suggestions of cedar wood and leather add an exotic dimension to the nose. The wine, round and seductive, with discreet but well integrated tannins, presents an attractive acidity. Rich flavours of English cake and fresh plums stand out in a long finish. Marvellously balanced and harmonious, with all the elegance and intensity conferred by ageing in oak casks.

Taylor´s

Taylor’s launches a limited edition Tawny Reserva Port wine that aims to celebrate its long history of pioneering spirit and passion. The bottle specially developed for this limited edition was inspired by wine bottles made in England between 1715 and 1740. The specific variant on which this limited edition bottle was based, with a narrow oval profile, is often described as having the shape of a “flat chestnut”. These bottles generally contained more wine than the previous “onion” shaped bottles or the more cylindrical type that followed them. Like this special edition bottle, the bottles from the 1730s were made to contain a litre of wine.
This blend was carefully selected for this limited edition from specially chosen Port wines from the extensive reserves of wines that age in wood at Taylor’s Cellars. It presents a unique character, the characteristic richness of Taylor’s eculmina in an end of incredible and distinctive persistence.

This has been achieved through perseverance, pioneering spirit and the continuity of tradition in which successive generations of the family have been involved.
