Sophienwald glasses are delicate and fine, true works of art in glass that combine delicacy and robustness, classic and modern, noble and accessible. Each glass is mouth-blown, handmade, and thus always unique.
The brand was created with the idea of covering the widest possible range of wines with the fewest possible glasses. Our designers have succeeded in meeting the highest demands of the art of sommelier with only a few wine glasses, complemented by a sparkling wine and champagne glass.
Our headquarters in Alt-Nagelberg is located on the former site of the Stölzle family glassworks, where world-famous glass was produced from 1725, and from 1847 under the management of the Stölzle family until 2006.
In 2014, the company Sophienwald was founded by the Kugler family, whose connection to glass production is very old – the “Kugler” was a qualified fine hollow glass polisher. Ernest Kugler conducted and documented extensive research on former glassworks in the Gföhlerwald.
Since then, Sophienwald has gained recognition in the highest professional circles, both nationally and internationally. Our products are the choice of many wine lovers, winemakers, oenologists, and sommeliers around the world.
The glasses of the Sophienwald series are produced in the European Union, with design originating from Austria.
