O Produtor, tasting note published in February 17th 2023

On the nose, you will find all the generosity of the vintage rums that compose it. Aromas of dried fruits are accompanied by a powerful wood rich in history and tradition. On the palate, the Cuvée l'Élixir is round and silky, characteristic of the rums produced by Maison Clément. Delicious notes of gingerbread and mocha are added to the dried fruits. The flavors of the very old rums are awakened by the liveliest of the 6-year-old agricole rums, in a harmonious blend where each eau-de-vie has space to express itself. To extend the pleasure of this memorable tasting, the finish is long and leaves us with fine and comforting notes of ginger.

Clément

A worthy successor to the Clément Carafe XO rum, the Clément Cuvée l’Élixir comes in the same elegant bottle with perfect curves and pays tribute to the 125 years of history of Maison Clément. This drop-shaped bottle is one of the signatures of Habitation Clément, as if to mark the timelessness of its productions. Through a skillfully mastered play of transparencies, the Domaine de l’Acajou is revealed at the bottom of the bottle, through a magnificent golden color with mahogany reflections.

The Clément Cuvée l’Élixir rum is composed of three old agricole rums of 6 years aged in toasted American oak barrels, old bourbon barrels, and new French oak barrels.

This Clément Rum pairs perfectly with a veal loin in meat sauce (deglazed with rum) and its light cassava mousseline.

Clément Rhum

It was Christopher Columbus who introduced sugarcane to Martinique in 1493, during his second voyage to the New World. The island’s fertile soils are ideal for the development of a plant that also benefits from its particularly favorable hot and humid tropical climate.

Named after the family that acquired the property and developed the distillery since 1887, Maison Clément is a vast agricultural estate located in the commune of Le François, in southeast Martinique. At the heart of the sugarcane fields is an important heritage site, with its 17th-century Creole mansion, a contemporary art center, and a complex dedicated to rum, its tradition, and its history.

Signature of Rhums Clément
Martinique’s agricultural rum is distilled from pure sugarcane juice and produced under strict AOC (appellation d’origine contrôlée) rules. This demanding process preserves natural flavors and guarantees the quality of the product, signing the authenticity of Rhums Clément.
