Vicentino
Through his academic and professional background, with years of experience in fruit production and trade worldwide, Norwegian Ole Martin Siem recognised that Portugal had ideal climate and soil conditions for wine production. He was fascinated by the wines of the Alentejo and the beautiful landscape of the Costa Vicentina.
He chose to plant his vines in a unique ecosystem where the sea and the cliffs meet. It is these grapes, the fruit of hours of labour and dedication, that give birth to Vicentino. The high temperatures of the Alentejo, mitigated by the humidity of the sea, allow for optimal ripening, creating wines of extreme elegance. The Vicentino Naked Pinot Noir Rosé was aged for 6 months in the same stainless steel vats on fine lees.
Soil:
The loamy soils where it is planted allow the Pinot Noir variety to display its attributes. In 2019, we achieved an average yield of 6.7 tonnes/HA. This balance between quantity and quality, together with a mild climate, allowed us to obtain a raw material of excellence. The Pinot Noir variety originates from lands with colder climates and has found in our terroir the conditions that allow it to express two of its main characteristics: freshness and elegance.
Fermentation and ageing:
Manual harvest. Grapes are pressed in whole bunch. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. Ageing for 6 months in the same stainless steel vats, on fine lees.
