Covela
The Quinta de Covela practices organic agriculture on granite soils that form a natural amphitheatre with several sun exposures. A landscape of planted terraces, at low altitude, on the right bank of the Douro River.
Cold winters and hot, dry summers, on the border between the Mediterranean climate of the Douro Valley and the Atlantic influence of the Douro Litoral.
Hand-picked. The grapes are transported in small crates to avoid crushing. Manual selection of clusters. Total de-stemming followed by gentle pressing. Slight pelicular maceration.
Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aged on fine lees.
