The wine is named after the mountain Puig de Masanella, which is part of the Sierra de Tramontana range. At 1,365 meters, it is the second-highest mountain on the island and is situated right in front of the winery, next to Puig Major, the king of all mountains in Mallorca. The Garnacha vineyards face this mountain at an angle of 358° from the winery.
Winemaking: The Grenache for this wine was harvested on August 18th and 19th, about 12 days earlier than the Grenache for the reds. It was cooled overnight, hand-sorted, de-stemmed, and crushed, then pressed very slowly to extract just enough color and aromatic compounds from the skins. After fermentation and racking, a master blending session was needed. The Grenache vinified as rosé on its own did not express the usual beauty of our rosé, so creativity was necessary! First, it was decided to top up with some Grenache vinified as red and finally add a bit of Manto Negro vinified as rosé, which is slightly fruitier, plus a dash of Sauvignon Blanc, and that brought out the magic!
Aged in stainless steel tanks for 6 months, it was bottled in March 2022 and released in May 2022.
