Vinhas da Teixuga
This red wine from the Jaen grape variety stood out from the other wines of this year 2019 from the very first moment. It is made from a 35-year-old vineyard located in the heart of the farm where Jaen, one of the most typical grape varieties of the Dão region, is planted exclusively. After the fermentation, which took place in a temperature controlled stainless steel vat, the majority of the batch continued its evolution in stainless steel vats, and part of the in stainless steel vats, and another part of the lot aged for 12 months in two French oak barrels carefully selected to enhance the special characteristics of this variety. Jaen, gives origin to wines of enormous elegance and harmony, and requires special care in its “education” in order not to alter this balance! Here the barrel works as a “catalyst” to exalt the full potential of the variety!
