O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2016

Beautiful nose, with delicate notes of the barrel very well integrated with blue and black fruit, soft herbaceous notes, graphite, absolutely seductive. Light and fresh, enlightening, all made of delicacy and fascination.

Quinta do Mouro

Quinta do Mouro is located at the gates of the city of Estremoz, and belonged for centuries to the Zagalos family, one of the most wealthy in the city. This original “farmhouse” in Alentejo, where the vast lands dominate, has a palatial house from the 16th century. In 1979, when he was only 26 years old, fortune dictated the fate of Miguel Louro at a poker table, among friends, when he had the dilemma of buying a Porsche or Quinta do Mouro. The first acres of vineyards would be planted in 1989, following a failed incursion into cattle ranching, being today one of the region’s most iconic wine producers.
