O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2017

A true homage to Nature. With minimal human intervention. Aromatically fine, exuberant, seductive ... where blackberries, currants and plums stand out. In the mouth it has volume, structure, intensity and ends with a good persistence.

Vinha d'Ervideira

Harvest: Mechanical at night. Vinification: The grapes are transported to very low temperatures to preserve their quality, while in the cellar, the grapes enter fermentation vats, keeping the temperature at 8o for pre-fermentative maceration. The temperature rises gently, to make a long and careful fermentation, to preserve the aromas of nature.

Ervideira

The estates of Monte da Ribeira and Herdadinha both belong to the Leal da Costa family, direct descendants of the Count of Ervideira, a successful farmer in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. With 160 hectares divided between two estates, one in Vidigueira (110 ha) and the other in Reguengos de Monsaraz (50 ha), Ervideira´s company is run by Maria Isabel Leal da Costa, the family’s matriarch, together with the support of her six children, including Duarte Leal da Costa, the executive director. Nelson Rolo is the head winemaker.
