This Humilitas is a wine made from a careful selection of Syrah grapes. It has a deep garnet colour and an intense and subtle aroma with floral, wild fruit and spice notes. Great volume in the mouth, very concentrated, with well present tannins, but very elegant and smooth. Very long and dense finish. A red wine of superior quality evidenced by the ageing of 15 months in new French oak barrels.
Fermentation in small stainless steel vats with manual pigeage.

It was in 2011 that José Rodrigues became enchanted by the Alentejo plains and decided to buy Monte da Ribeira, a property of about 12 hectares near Évora, on a plot of the old Herdade da Avessada, where he planted an orchard and a small vineyard.
The purchase of a tractor and tools to farm the property led to the need to build a garage to store them. But in a protected natural landscape such as his, this construction would only be possible as part of an industrial project such as a winery. From here came the suggestion that aroused the desire to plant more vines and make his own wine.
José Rodrigues wanted the winery to be designed by the architect Jorge Fragoso Pires, who conceived it in perfect harmony with the surroundings, having as main concern its functionality. Through “small and safe steps”, as the producer describes it, Monte da Ribeira has been affirming itself as, more than a reason for family and friends reunions, a place to create unique and exclusive wines. José Rodrigues makes a point of presenting the wines personally, showing himself happy with the first results of this project that he intends to make grow.
