It comes in an intense ruby colour. Very fine and delicate in aroma, prevailing notes of bergamot and red fruits. In velvety mouth with notes of the stage in barrels perfectly integrated always highlighting the floral notes of the varieties showing the virtues of this specific terroir that gives it great complexity and longevity.
The grapes were harvested manually, for small boxes of 25 kg, according to a careful selection of the best grapes in the vineyard. The grapes were totally destemmed for small stainless steel tanks. Fermentation lasted about 15 days with controlled temperature and gentle pumping over for a good extraction of color and aromas. After the malo-lactic fermentation, it was aged for 12 months in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels and then blended to balance the varietal fruit and the complexity of the oak. It was bottled without sticking and with filtration in April 2018.

Santar Vila Jardim
The individuality of the Dão region is due to the nature and ruggedness of its relief, which determine marked microclimatic variations, of great importance for vine culture and great significance for the quality of wines. Surrounded by high granite mountains on three sides – Serra da Estrela, Serra do Caramulo and Serra da Nave, the region is protected from the influence of the Atlantic Ocean. Thus, the local climate remains temperate. The summers are dry and hot, while the inverse, cold and rainy, with great thermal amplitude. The soils are sandy, of granite and schistous origin, well drained. All these factors are conducive to obtaining high quality wines.
The Santar Vila Jardim project brings together the vineyard gardens of the Casa dos Condes de Santar and Magalhães, Fidalgas, Iberico Nogueira and Magnólia. In them, great grape varieties were combined in a Terroir of choice. A vineyard garden is one that awakens all the senses.
