VIK 2021 represents the pinnacle of excellence, an iconic wine that reflects the vineyard’s unique identity. Composed of 77% Cabernet Franc and 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, it embodies the estate’s most emblematic varieties. The 2021 vintage received a perfect score of 100 points from James Suckling, an extraordinary achievement for a winery with just 20 years of history.
Since its first vintage in 2010, released in 2015, VIK has evolved, refining its profile. Initially crafted with Merlot, Syrah, Carmenère, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, the blend was gradually perfected, culminating in the sophisticated and balanced expression of the 2021 vintage, meticulously crafted by winemaker Cristian Vallejo and his team.
“Intense graphite with fresh lavender, thyme, rosemary, and blackcurrant notes. Hints of decadence. Iodine and mussel undertones. Full-bodied, with superb intensity and silky tannins that expand on the palate, showing remarkable persistence that lasts for minutes. Truly exceptional depth. 77% cabernet franc and 23% cabernet sauvignon. Best ever. 4,800 bottles produced. This wine needs five to seven years to reach its peak. Drink from 2029.” – James Suckling
