Red wine resulted from the varieties: Alicante Bouschet (60%) et Syrah (40%), fermentation in mechanical press “lagar” with 26 months in extra thin Allier oak barrels followed by 12 months in the bottle. It must be open for a moment before drinking.

Vidigueira

Adega Cooperativa de Vidigueira, Cuba e Alvito brought to the market the Vidigueira 1498 Grande Reserva, becoming the top wine segment of the agricultural company. This wine was produced in an exclusive series of 1498 bottles, numbered and delivered inside a polished walnut wood box. The wine that honours Vasco da Gama is a result of the varieties Alicante Bouschet and Syrah.

The Adega Cooperativa de Vidigueira, Cuba and Alvito C.R.L. constituted by public deed in 1960, began its productive activity in 1963 and counts today with 345 associates. The Vidigueira Wine Cellar is the work of the majority of winegrowers in the region of Vidigueira, Cuba and Alvito, who have kept the best indigenous grape varieties in their vineyards. The “Antão Vaz”, also known as “La Casta de Vidigueira”, which produces a unique white wine, deserves the honor of distinction, and the “Alfrocheiro” grape variety, which creates a very aromatic red wine typical of our region.
