Macán Clásico is an exemplary wine from the Sonsierra region in La Rioja, steeped in centuries of tradition, knowledge, and winemaking culture from the slopes of the Sierra de Cantabria. It reveals the freshness, fruitiness, liveliness, and delicacy of the terroir, which provides depth and complexity.

The grapes from a single variety (Tempranillo) come from plots with alkaline sandy-clay soils and were hand-harvested in 12 kg boxes.

A concentrated and powerful harvest was expected due to the warmer vine cycle, which proved to be true. However, the 80 litres of rain that fell in September radically altered the texture of the grape skins, changing from a drier texture to a firmer one while maintaining their nobility. A vintage with very gentle extractions, almost like an infusion, where nature provided everything. We also reduced the influence of American oak during ageing, opting for toasts that bring more freshness.
