Vadio

The grapes were harvested by hand in 20 kg boxes. The stalk was full and fermentation was carried out by indigenous yeasts, kept for 10 days in vat. Pressing in a vertical press was followed by malolactic fermentation. It was aged for about 18 months in used 225 L French and American oak barrels and another 18 months in the bottle. It has undergone light filtration and therefore there may be some deposit with age.

Vadio Bairrada Doc

VADIO is situated in the village of Poutena in the region of BAIRRADA. It is a small and family project founded in 2005 by winemaker Luís Patrão, whose essential element is the recovery of traditional grape varieties and the production of authentic DOC BAIRRADA wines. We have three totally distinct small vineyards and an old warehouse which we have adapted in a very simple way for the production of wine. Our wines present a classic style that intends to respect the authenticity of the region and the character of the grape varieties that give it origin.
