The TRANS-DOURO-EXPRESS is an exploratory journey through the Douro, composed of three wines that aim to express the characteristics of their origin. The Douro Demarcated Region is divided into three subregions: Baixo Corgo, Cima Corgo, and Douro Superior. Each has its own history, culture, and, most importantly, climate, resulting in distinct wines.

The Trans-Douro-Express Cima Corgo comes from vineyards located in the Cima Corgo, an intermediate region situated between Baixo Corgo and Douro Superior.
Climate: Mediterranean. Precipitation (annual average): 600mm.
Soil: Schist.

Vinification: Fermentation and aging for 8 months in concrete tanks.

Additional Information: pH: 3.72 | Residual sugar: < 2 g/L | Production: 8,000 bottles.

Mateus Nicolau de Almeida

Mateus is the fifth generation of the Nicolau de Almeida family to produce wine in the Douro region. Together with his wife, Teresa Ameztoy, he works in a winery they call Adega do Sável (Alosa alosa).
