O Produtor, tasting note published in August 29th 2021

Delicate aromas with a fruity character and some balsamic and spicy notes. Very elegant in the mouth with a high sense of freshness and great complexity and concentration. It has enormous potential for ageing in bottle.

Textura

Vinha Negrosa red wine is a blend of Jaen (50%) and Alfrocheiro (50%), the grape varieties that we consider best demonstrate the terroir where the vineyards are located. This vineyard, called Negrosa, is located in Vila Nova de Tazem, sub-region of Serra da Estrela. The main characteristics are the altitude – 470 to 500 metres, the soil composition – granite and granite sand, and the age of the vines – around 30 years. The Vinha Negrosa red, ferments in oak vats with 40% whole bunch and about 20 days of maceration after fermentation. The Jaen and Alfrocheiro varieties go through the vinification and ageing process individually and the blend is made before bottling.

Textura Wines

Textura Wines is a family project started in 2018 in Dão on the slopes of Serra da Estrela and involving organic viticulture, terroir wine production and wine tourism. In search of existing vineyards in a region of small producers, we have 22 ha of vineyards on 7 different plots in Vila Nova de Tazem and in Penalva do Castelo. With a low-intervention oenology, which reflects the soil and the location of each of our vineyards, the aim is to achieve wines with character, elegant and distinctive. Respect for the place and its biodiversity (soil, flora and fauna, people and community), the preservation of resources (natural and cultural) and local development are the basis of our fundamental principles.
