O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2019

Colour: Deep ruby.
Nose: Good aromatic freshness, with dominant ripe black fruit, well balanced by spices and elegant smoky notes.
Palate: Dense, very smooth tannins, balanced acidity, well-integrated oak. Shows great ageing potential in a wine with solid structure and consistency, while maintaining its aromatic character through a persistent and very long finish.

Rozés

Company of the Vranken Pommery Monopole Group since 1999, Rozès has a centuries-old history linked to the Douro. The first Port Wine exporting group to settle in the Douro Demarcated Region, Rozès has solidified its presence in national and international markets, imposing their wines with mastery, from which the full control of the different phases of viticulture in the Douro is highlighted, from the planting of the vineyards to the aging and bottling of the wines.
Founded in Bordeaux in 1855, by Ostende Rozès, a fine wine dealer from that city, Rozès started by importing and marketing Port Wine.
In the next generation, the founder’s son, Edmond Rozès, was the major driver in the development and reputation of the company and its Port wines. Around the 1930s, Edmond created the brand ” Porto Rozès “, choosing at the same time a bottle shape that allowed to simultaneously identify the brand and the Port wine: thus a bottle coated ” with the old Portuguese “, with the neck wrapped in sulphurous paper and a stopper sealed with wax.
In this way, Port wines took on such a characteristic and charismatic identity, and quickly gained the status of quality wines.
After more than a hundred years and four generations later, in 1977, Casa Rozès ceases to belong to the family that gave it its name.
Currently, the Rozès brand exports to more than 40 countries worldwide, with France, Belgium, Germany and Scandinavia as its main markets. It is the only Port Wine brand to have two completely different ranges: the tradition represented by the Rozès Classic Ports brand and the innovation represented by the Rozès Colors Collection brand.
