O Produtor, tasting note published in April 19th 2023

Intense ruby colour.
Deep, dense and complex aroma. Ripe red and black fruits, spicy notes and hints of tobacco stand out. Nose with great precision.
Gluttonous attack on the palate, very perfumed in the mouth, present tannins that give a good structure, ample, balanced acidity and a very long finish.

Tecedeiras

Tecedeiras Único is only born in exceptional years: a unique blend of the best grapes harvested from vines planted on the typical terraces of the Douro. The artisanal production, on a small scale, using more traditional methods, guarantee the rarity of this wine. Manual harvesting. Manual selection of the clusters.
Destemming and light crushing of the berries.
The grapes ferment in used 500 litre French oak barrels where they were gently pigeaged.
After ageing for 19 months in barrels, a light racking and subsequent bottling took place. The wine rested for 1 year before being commercialised.
All our wines are sealed with natural cork.
The wines are not filtered or cold stabilised and therefore may give rise to a deposit with age.

Quinta das Tecedeiras

Located on the left bank of the Douro River, in the prestigious sub-region of São João da Pesqueira, Quinta das Tecedeiras owes its current name to the nuns who lived there and dedicated themselves to weaving the linen that was cultivated there in the past. Launched as a brand in 2001, Quinta das Tecedeiras has found international success with its robust and characteristic red wines, which perfectly reflect the terroir of the property: north-facing terraces that allow excellent conditions for the ripening of the grapes in this warm part of the valley. The winemaker is Carlos Lucas, who founded the brand and developed the first Tecedeiras wines from 2001. Lima Smith took over the property in 2013 and since then, this young winery has made a name for itself around the world.
