O Produtor, tasting note published in April 27th 2023

Intense and concentrated colour. Fine aroma, with hints of ripe fruit and chocolate, in a save and harmonious set. A soft red wine, well structured in the mouth, round, fresh and balanced.

Herdade do Sobroso

In 1519 King Manuel I attributed the title of Count of Vidigueira to Vasco da Gama. It was in the tranquillity of this beautiful village in Alentejo. Among the trees, cork oaks, olive trees and vineyards that the man who discovered the sea route to India lived happily with his family for some years.
Herdade do Sobroso is part of this unique landscape, populated by historical and patrimonial reminiscences, now strongly marked by the proximity of the largest artificial lake in Europe, the Alqueva Dam.
Set in a region known for its rich gastronomy and conventual sweets, the restaurant of Herdade do Sobroso Country House does not leave the credit in the hands of others. Here the menu is rich in products of the land and varied. It will be difficult to choose between a thousand and one dishes that have won prizes in prestigious gastronomy competitions since several years ago.
Sobroso is an ancient place with cork oaks and a unique property with 1600 hectares. In the Sobroso estate the banks of the Guadiana River next to Alqueva in the DOC Region. Vidigueira where the high and the low Alentejo meet, where 600.000 cork oaks were planted in the last years.
