Revista de Vinhos, tasting note published in January 26th 2023

Purple. The setting is woodland - pine needles, mushroom, wild berry, and pomegranate. The nuances of tobacco and spice are subtle. The tannin shows disarming finesse, the overall structure is impeccable, the finish reminiscent of the precision of a perfect game frame. More delicate, fresh, and detailed than the debut edition, it is a monument of wine.

A red wine from old vineyards in Trás-os-Montes, named ‘Segredo 6’ in homage to the complicity of the two founding friends of CC Wine who managed to keep the secret of their producer for 4 years and to the number of the jersey worn by the former footballer at FC Porto, Atletico Madrid, and the National Team, Costinha.

Segredo 6 is born from grapes from 3.5 hectares of vineyards over 60 years old, without trellising, planted in shale and quartz soils that produce between 1,200 to 1,500 liters.

Winemaker: Paulo Nunes.

The winery created by António Boal, manager of Costa Boal Family Estates – a family company with deep roots in the Douro and Trás-os-Montes regions, with over 150 years of tradition in wine production – and by the businessman Francisco Costa, better known as Costinha, a nickname he adopted during his football player career.

The project was born with the purchase of the ‘professor’s vineyard’, a 3.5-hectare plot in Mirandela, Trás-os-Montes, in 2019.
